AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides in-person and virtual tax assistance free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low-to-moderate income. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, are trained on the latest tax law changes, and are IRS-certified every year.
For 2026 in SE Oakland County, nearly 100 volunteers will prepare taxes at seven locations starting early February and continuing until Tax Day in April. Appointments are necessary at all sites – you can make your appointment starting January 2026.
